Homes

Homes is an ongoing immersive art project exploring the relationship between memory, identity, and the spaces we inhabit. Using photographs, videos, and recollections, I recreate the homes I’ve lived in as 3D environments, transforming them into surreal landscapes where past and present converge. What begins as an archive of personal history becomes an evolving memory sculpture, shaped as much by imagination as by lived experience.
For over a decade, I’ve been recreating the homes I’ve lived in using 3D modeling and virtual reality. What began as an attempt to preserve my past has evolved into an exploration of the fragile, subjective nature of memory and the ways our surroundings shape who we become.
I started writing to my future self at fifteen, collecting photographs and videos as messages to a person I had yet to become. As I grew older, I became fascinated by the space between my past and present: the space of becoming.
Through Homes, I return to the places that held me, shaped me, and witnessed my transformation, not to reconstruct them perfectly, but to explore how I remember them.
These digital environments are neither faithful replicas nor attempts to rewrite history. They are spaces where memory and imagination intertwine, where forgotten details can be invented and the impossible can feel strangely familiar. A doorway might connect my Brooklyn apartment to my home in California; a window might open onto a landscape thousands of miles away. Furniture floats at the push of a button, time slips, and ordinary objects take on unexpected lives.
By treating my homes as an immersive canvas and memory as paint, I create surreal worlds that honor the places I have lived while making room for play, wonder, and the inner child. Homes is both a personal archive and an evolving memory sculpture, inviting reflection on the stories we tell ourselves, the gaps we fill in, and the ever-changing relationship between who we were and who we are becoming.
